Training Magazine and Gamification Guru Monica Cornetti collaborated to create Gamicon, the gamification event for learning and development. Geoteaming was ask to present a live session with the key goals of networking and giving an example of app based gamification. This conference is unique by having some of the top game designers that work with the world top companies.
This event started at Chicago’s McCormick West where teams were formed and given the goals, rules and how to use the technology. They were able to complete as many missions in an hour as possible. During this time, they were able to travel between McCormick and a local rooftop bar, Reggie’s.
Great lessons such as Team 3’s use of the leaderboard. Seeing they were last in the first 10 minutes, a UK member led the team in a charge where they were able to move from 6th place to 3rd place by the end of the event.
Monica Cornetti correctly guessed the winning team by observing their creativity, inclusiveness and seeing the energy of this team. This team started in the lead and kept in the lead the entire game.
This event ended with debriefs by each of the team on the rooftop of Reggie’s that ranged from hilarious to deep reflections. Then Geoteaming ended the program with a recap video set to “Happy” that raised the roof (pun intended) on Reggie’s as every participant clapped along to this song.
